Introducing the New Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus

As Samsung continues to aggressively push the Android marketplace, they have yet again produced a powerhouse of a mobile phone that is sure to have many phone enthusiasts drooling.
Samsung has listed the Galaxy S5 Plus on its Netherlands website, a variant of its flagship smartphone that is actually the European version of the Galaxy S5 4G+ that was introduced in Singapore in August.

Both the Galaxy S5 Plus and Galaxy S5 4G+ feature the same model name as well - SM-G901F, and have the same specifications, of which the most notable is the 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC - a significant bump up from the Galaxy S5 and its Snapdragon 801 processor that also brings integrated LTE-A connectivity. The Galaxy S5 Plus also features 2GB of RAM.

With the Samsung Netherlands listing, there is hope that Samsung is looking to bring the Galaxy S5 Plus or Galaxy S5 4G+ to more markets. Notably, the Samsung Netherlands website doesn't list the Galaxy S5 Plus as available to buy right now.

The Galaxy S5 Plus features a 5.1-inch full-HD (1080x1920) Super AMOLED display instead of the QHD (1440x2560 pixel) display of the Galaxy S5 LTE-A.

GALAXY S5 PLUS  The rest of the specifications of the Galaxy S5 Plus are identical to the original Galaxy S5, including the 16-megapixel rear camera; 2-megapixel front camera, and 2800mAh battery.

It also runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box with the company's skin on top. It comes with 16GB inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB).

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus sports other features from the 2014 flagship, such as fingerprint and heart rate sensors; NFC; USB 3.0 and an IR sensor blaster. The smartphone is water and dust resistant with IP67 certification. It also comes preloaded with features such as Ultra Power Saving Mode, Kids Mode, S Health, and Private Mode.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Rumors

Samsung Galaxy S6

 Rumors

After Apple launched the much-awaited iPhone 6, smartphone enthusiasts are waiting for Samsung to launch their countermeasure, the Galaxy S6. While rumors suggest that the S6 is much superior to the Apple iPhone 6 in terms of refinement and hardware, here is the analysis of some of the most common stories regarding the S6 that are doing the rounds.

  • 64-bit Processor- A popular online electronics magazine had suggested a while back that the Samsung Galaxy S6 draws power from a 64-bit Qualcomm processor. Even though, the company has launched the specific release date for the hardware, rumors claim that Samsung will have an earlier encounter with the processor, thanks to the S6.
  • Metal-finish Exterior- Another popular online magazine had suggested that the Galaxy S6 is likely to feature a metallic exterior and once again we cannot confirm the reports. However, if this is the case, it would be Samsung’s first stint with a metallic finish body. Far-fetched theories further suggest that the outer metal aligns perfectly to the smartphone’s chassis.
  • Camera Capability- Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to feature a 16MP primary camera, considering the price and market segment that it is expected to dominate. A faction of the fan base has hinted at the possibility of a 20MP primary camera as well, even though official word on this is currently unavailable.
  • HD Display- The Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to feature a SuperAMOLED UHD display, outclassing the Apple 5S’s HD 4.7-inch screen effortlessly.
  • Price- This is one of the most controversial factors of the Samsung Galaxy S6 as people believe that the device will launch at a lower price than its predecessor’s launch amount. Only time can reveal the truth behind the claim.

Samsung Uses Fake Butt To Test Galaxy Note 4 For Back Pocket Bending

Galaxy Note 4

Back Pocket Bending Test

Samsung Electronics Co. is still having a field day teasing Apple Inc. about the recent iPhone 6 “bendgate” fiasco. But the Korean manufacturer has also taken the opportunity to show off the strength of its new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphone.

In a new promotional video, Samsung puts the Galaxy Note 4 up against a butt -- yes, a butt, to see whether the device bends under pressure. This was the issue with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus; a number of early adopters reported that their iPhones were bending while being carried in their pockets. Pundits also demonstrated that the iPhone 6 Plus bends under the force of someone intentionally attempting to bend the phone with their hands.  From this, bendgate was born and became not only a trending topic on Twitter, but ammo for Samsung.
