Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Camera Specs

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

 Camera Specs

Samsung is no stranger to taking the cameras seriously in their devices. The Galaxy S4, Note 3 and Galaxy S5 have arguably the best cameras on any Android device ever released. According to a report out of the highly reliable SamMobile, the Galaxy Note 4 will be a monster in the camera department as well.

On the hardware side, SamMobile is saying the Note 4 will come with a 16-megapixel Sony IMX240 sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), support for shooting UHD (3840×2160) video at 30 FPS and a 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera sensor, capable of capturing images and videos in WQHD (2560×1440) resolution. There is also a new hardware feature coming called Side Touch that allows you to capture images by touching the bezel of the Note 4 where a physical camera button would normally reside.

Based on the hardware alone, we’d surmise the Galaxy Note 4 will have a top of the line camera capable of competing with any high-end smartphone available today. But Samsung being Samsung, there are a million software features to back that hardware up. You’ll find the full list of resolutions the Note 4 is capable of shooting in as well as the camera modes and features below, but of particular note is a new way to access the camera via a two finger tap and slide from the homescreen, a wide angle selfie mode and a handful of features coming over from the S5, like Live HDR and Fast Auto-Focus.

We’ll wait until we see the final product before giving the final word, but we’d be very surprised if the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 didn’t come with one of the best cameras of the year.

Galaxy S4 Mini has a processor of 1.7 GHz 2core Krait and its chipset is MSM8930 Snapdragon 400. It’s memory is around 8GB and expandable up to 64GB with the use of a MicroSD card.

These two devices use the same operating system – Android Jelly Bean. As for the RAM, Xperia has 1GB while Galaxy S4 Mini has 1.5GB.

3. Camera

These two phones have similar features when it comes to the camera. Both have an 8MP resolution which has an LED flash and at the same time they both have autofocus. This is for the first camera. As for the secondary camera, Xperia uses a low resolution while the S4 Mini uses a 1.9MP resolution.

Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. iPhone 6

Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. iPhone 6

With the release of the iPhone 6 coming next month, many are wondering how Samsung will respond to Apple's new smart phone when they release the Galaxy S6 in 2015. And while the S6 probably won't launch until Q2 next year, it's not too early to begin comparing how these two phones stack up against each other.

APPLE iPHONE 6

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 6 early next month at a September 9th event, and according to Yahoo will begin selling the device most likely within 10 days of that, perhaps as early as September 19th.

The tech rumors went crazy this summer when it became apparent that Apple would be releasing TWO iPhone 6 models this year, a 4.7-inch screen version and a 5.5-inch screen version. These would be the largest iPhones ever, and appear to be a response by Apple to the success of larger phones like Samsungs Galaxy S and Galaxy Note phones.
The new iPhones are also reported to be much thinner this time around, perhaps as thin as the current generation of iPods. Sapphire glass has been rumored to be covering the display this time as well, in order to better prevent scratching. Thinner bezels are also expected, and perhaps even curved screens.

And don't forget iOS 8, Apple's new mobile OS should launch on the iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 this fall. Apple announced that HealthKit, a new fitness management tool, is part of the new OS and will most likely integrate with the iPhone, iPad and iWatch.

Mashable reports that a rumor recently flooded Twitter which claimed the iPhone 6 would cost $800 off contract, which would make it one of the most expensive smart phones ever.

GALAXY S6

One thing a lot of people don't like about Samsung's Galaxy S line of phones is that most of the phone's body is made of plastic. Well, that might all change with the Galaxy S6 because Samsung proved with the Galaxy Alpha phone that they aren't against having a metal chassis. Based on how much everyone is always clamoring for a metal Galaxy S phone, the GS6 might be different from its predecessors.

The GS6 should also feature one of the best processors on the market. While it is still unclear exactly which CPU will power Samsung's next flagship phone, expect a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, possibly the 805 or the 810.

Samsung's Galaxy devices have always been noted for their larger and excellent displays. But don't expect a huge increase in screen size for the GS6. It's thought that a 5.2-inch or 5.3-inch screen is likely.

And a 4K screen, supporting a resolution of at least 3840 x 2160, might not be beyond the realm of possibility for Samsung.

The Galaxy S phones have always had great cameras. According to Air Herald the GS6 could have a 16- to 20-megapixel camera, which would give it one of the biggest image sensors of any smart phone on the market.

As for the price, expect such a high-end phone to cost between $500 to $600 off contract.
If Samsung continues their trend from previous years, the Galaxy S6 could be announced at next year's Mobile World Congress from March 2nd through 5th, and perhaps launch later that month.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Specs

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Specs Leak

According to the listing on Erafone, the Galaxy Note 4 will feature a 5.7-inch 1440 x 2560 (2K) Super AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and will be powered by either a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor or an octa-core Exynos 5433 depending on the model. Consumers will also be able to choose between 16, 32 and 64GB of internal storage and the microSD card slot will allow for up to 128GB of expanded storage.

The price, listed at IDR 9,499,000, converts to around $813, which we have to assume would be the off-contract price for the phablet. If both the Galaxy Note 4 and the iPhone 6 launch at the same price point, it will be fascinating to see who comes out on top. Samsung has experience in the oversized phone market and a reasonably large install base whereas this will be Apple’s first attempt. We’ll find out next month when both phones finally launch.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge
 with 3-sided screen

Samsung patents the name 'Galaxy Note Edge', suggesting that its three-sided screen technology might be released in smartphone form real soon. But what actual use will a tri-sided phone display be?

We've already seen a funky three-sided phone display from Samsung, although so far only in concept form, not in an actual marketable mobile. But now it looks like the curved screen tech could make it into a proper Samsung smartphone, as the Korean company registers the 'Galaxy Note Edge' brand.

What form the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge will take is anyone's guess, but it's safe to predict that the new phone will be a bit of a behemoth, like previous Note handsets.

We're expecting the next Galaxy Note phone (currently known as the Galaxy Note 4) to be launched on September 3rd in Berlin, and way back in May there was talk of the Galaxy Note 4 rocking a flexible screen, from no less than Samsung's vice president of mobile. So perhaps this Galaxy Note Edge moniker is actually the secret new name for the Galaxy Note 4, and we'll be seeing this new curved screen in just three weeks?

Personally we're expecting the Galaxy Note Edge to be a whole other device if it does eventually emerge, most likely in 2015. And while a screen that stretches around the left and right edges of a handset would be pretty cool, we're not too sure what use it would be.

We'd far prefer a screen that stretched across the top edge of a phone instead. After all, these massive phablets are already poking free of our pockets, so you could simply squint down each time you feel your handset vibrate and see at a glance what notifications are waiting, similar to a smart-watch. But then, that's not much good if you carry your phone in a bag, and where would you put the earphone jack?

Snapdragon 805 Confirmed for Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Snapdragon 805 Confirmed for Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Another day of the week and another Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rumor, supposedly confirmed when sources familiar with the situation told ZDNet Korea that Qualcomm has definitely agreed to sell Samsung their Snapdragon 805 for use in the Galaxy Note 4.

This should really come as no surprise since Samsung has typically put two different processors in their Galaxy Note series – their own Exynos (5433) and the other with a Qualcomm processor. Benchmarks have been seen for the Galaxy Note 4 with both processors being used. We are hearing great testing scores with the Exynos, but generally the U.S. carriers want the Qualcomm Snapdragon in their models because it ‘plays nice’ with their LTE networks.

The other interesting piece of news from our source is that Qualcomm is offering a significant discount on the price of the Snapdragon 805 – reportedly in the “two digits per chip” range…whatever that means. Two digits could be anywhere from $10 to $99 – quite a range and certainly sheds no light on how much the discount will actually be.

According to the HSI teardown, the Snapdragon 801 chip found in the Galaxy S5, costs about $41 per chip. The source said that it is unclear why Qualcomm is extending this “rare” courtesy to Samsung and the report also claims the LG is upset about it and wants a discount as well. I find those last couple of remarks laughable – the source is calling this a “rare courtesy,” when deals and discounts are negotiated all of the time in business and the fact that LG is upset and feels that they should also get the discount. Discounts are based on quantities, and as poorly as Samsung is doing, they are still selling a lot more devices than LG and should be entitled to a larger discount than their competitor. Of course, none of this – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 or the discount – has been confirmed by Samsung, so we must still take this news with a grain of salt.

As far as the Snapdragon 805 in the Galaxy Note 4 – we have seen benchmarks run on the Note 4 with the ’805,’ Samsung and the U.S. carriers like the Snapdragon processors for their LTE networks, and there have been numerous other sightings concerning this matter, so we can safely assume this is true.

Samsung's New Metal Galaxy Alpha Phone

Samsung's New Metal

 Galaxy Alpha Phone

GalaxyAlphaiPhone  Samsung is expected to unveil a new phone called the Galaxy Alpha in the near future — a device that's smaller than the Galaxy S5 but is rumored to feature metal edges similar to Apple's iPhone. While the Korean smartphone maker hasn't officially shared any plans regarding its future products, new photos claim to show the Galaxy Alpha alongside the iPhone 5s. If the photos published by Twitter account @culeaks (via Phone Arena) turn out to be legitimate, the Galaxy Alpha may be thinner than Apple's flagship smartphone.

AlphaLeaked2  Samsung is rumored to take the wraps off its Galaxy Alpha any day now. Last week, Sam Mobile reported that the phone could debut on August 4, although we haven't heard anything from Samsung yet. Other than its metal edges, Samsung's upcoming Galaxy phone is expected to come with a 4.7-inch screen, a powerful processor, and a 12-megapixel rear camera.

The newly published photos are just few of many leaked images that have emerged in recent weeks. Earlier this week, pictures of the Galaxy Alpha in white appeared online.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Release

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Release
September

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd. reportedly aims to rival beat Apple Inc. in the latest smartphone battle by unveiling its upcoming Galaxy Note 4 on September 3.

According to a report from the Korea Times, Samsung wants to release the Galaxy Note 4 before Apple can launch its iPhone 6, which is also expected to be released sometime in September.  The new Samsung device is expected to be on display September 5 in Berlin at an industry event known as IFA.

The handset is expected to sport a 5.7-inch flat OLED screen and metal frame, while Samsung is also rumored to be planning a curved OLED version of the Note 4.  Meanwhile, leaked photos of Apple's iPhone 6 show a slimmer overall body size and larger screen, as compared side-by-side with the iPhone 5S.

Specifications of the Galaxy Note 4

Camera

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is said to feature a 16 MP camera that will allow you to capture crisp and clear pictures wherever you go. It certainly seems that Samsung is leaving no foot behind in the camera wars in the smartphone and tablet world. Besides, the image sensor of the camera is claimed to be sensitive, which will enable its users to click clear images even in low light scenarios and at night time. What’s more, the additional camera features will let you edit your pictures or customize it as well as share them instantly with your friends and family.

It is also reported that the Galaxy note 4 will integrate the intelligent optical image stabilization feature. This means you can capture that perfect picture even while the subject is moving around. Besides, a sudden shake or jerk will not affect the picture quality. This may also eliminate the need of carrying your digital camera for small occasions like birthday parties, family get together, anniversary parties, and more.

64 bit chip

While all of us are quite curious about the kind of processor integrated in our smartphone, most of would not be able to state what difference an advanced chip set is going to bring about in it. As a matter of fact developers have not given much thought to it, until iPhone 5S was released with 64 bit chip set. In an integrated circuit, chipset acts as a coordinator as the data flows between different components of the circuit using the chipset. Therefore, a 64 bit chip set would imply quick data flow between different components and thereby stimulating the gadget to respond faster. If Note 4 comes with a 64 bit processor, then it will be largely owing to the fact that it want to compete with other flagship phones on equal ground. In The Korean Times, Samsung’s insider has confirmed that it needs to more time to thoroughly research and thereafter integrate 64bit chip set in Note 4.

Operating System

This new phablet is rumored to be based on Android 4.5/5.0 Lollipop. This will certainly make multitasking a breeze as well as allow you to access applications even more smoothly. Besides, the latest version of Android ensures that your device never slows down during multitasking. If this turns out to be true, this phablet can be a great choice for professional use.

Wireless Charging

Finally, the wait for wireless charging is going to come to an end. Samsung is rumored to constantly strive at developing a technology that will allow its users to charge their device without the hassle of any wires. This will prove beneficial for people who travel frequently over long distance or for people who use their smartphones for everything.

Curved Display

Presently, the tech world seems to be obsessed with the idea of curved display on flagship phablets and smartphone. When S4 was released last year, curved display triggered a lot of discussion in the cyber space, however ultimately we didn’t get to see it in Galaxy S4. Even this year, when S5 is due for its release in a while, there is again a lot of speculation about its display, but nothing is being said about curved display.  However, the Samsung official has also stated that there is fair chance of Note 4 having a curved display as bendable display as it considered being far more durable that the flat screen.

UHD Display

While there is a lot of uncertainty about the other features and specifications of Note 4, one thing the Samsung insider was absolutely sure about was the screen resolution. It was stated that Note 4 is going to come in many versions, each having different display quality like full HD, QHD and UHD. Amongst these variants, UHD is going to draw the attention of the paparazzi with its 3840 x 2160 pixels display. Rumour has it that though the Galaxy S5 model revealed in Barcelona had a HD display, but later another version with QHD display will be revealed, before the launch of Note 4. So let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Advanced LTE

Samsung Galaxy S5 has advanced LTE support which implies that Note 4 will be integrated with advanced LTE support as well. This has become a common feature almost all Samsung flagship smartphones. Advance LTE would ensure speedy data transfer from the phone, however the network connection should also support such feature to offer faster data transfer.
Moreover Samsung Galaxy S5 also has IP67 certification which makes the phone resistant to water and dust. Therefore, making it obvious that all the future flagship phones of Samsung phones will come with same features or better features.

What’s more, the Galaxy note 4 is said to wrap some of the notable specs as follows
You can expect the internal memory to be 4 GB which can be further expanded up to 64 GB. This will allow users to store all their digital files like music, games, videos, and images. In addition, it may support 128 GB on board storage memory.

The battery is said to be of  3,300 mAh, providing a decent time for talk time on single charge
4G and Dual channel Wi-Fi capabilities will allow you to stay connected with friends and family wherever you go.

Besides, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is said to integrate high end features that will certainly make your life easier and smooth. However, it is too early to critically acclaim it but the release will make it all true. When it comes to providing the best features and functionalists to the users, Samsung has always been ahead in the race and established a remarkable position in the market. With its innovative technology and easy to use interface, Samsung has time and again proves to be one of the most popular manufacturers in this category.

What’s more, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is said to give a tough competition to the Sony Xperia Z3. According to the sources, Samsung will introduce fingerprint sensors in its new line up. You can expect the phablet to ship along with iris scanning technology. This will provide full protection to your valuable data and prevent it from unauthorized use. Again, if this point turns to be true, you can certainly use this device for business purpose as well as store your important and professional documents on the device itself. This will also eliminate the need of carrying the heavy laptop each time for business meetings and presentations.

Before you decide to buy this high-end device, you must know about the various buying options. You can either buy the phablet directly from Samsung or through some third-party official and authorized dealers. Mobile phone carriers always keep the latest brand and device and each carrier will have its own set of deals and offers.

You can make the best choice and prefer the carrier that offers best deal.  Until Samsung launches the device in the market, the rumors and speculations about its features and specification will continue to rule the web. Moreover, people will constantly look forward and fight to get its first glimpse. What’s more, you can also add accessories such S pen and stereo headphones.

So When Will We See It?

As far as the release date of this phone is concerned, it seems likely that Note 4 will be launched in its traditional birth place i.e. IFA trade fair hosted in Berlin. All the previous Note series phablet share the same birthplace and we would not be surprised if Samsung follow the same trend. Lately, a news report was also published in The Korean Times stating that an anonymous Samsung official has confirmed that Samsung is preparing Note 4 to be launched in IFA 2014, Berlin in Germany. Such news report makes it clear that there is fair chance of this device getting launched in September, 2014.
